The U.S. Military Academy Concert Band (AKA “The West Point Band”) entertained a group of veterans in New Hempstead, New York, yesterday. The concert, sponsored by a Jewish War Veterans group, took place at the Ramapo High School auditorium and was marked the third annual concert.
Veterans from all branches listened to the military themes played by the band and reportedly stood as their respective branch’s theme was played. The band’s conductor, Lt. Col. Timothy Holtan, saluted the veterans who returned the courtesy.
A trio of servicewomen dressed in WWII garb reminiscent of the Andrews Sisters serenaded the audience, as well, according to the local paper. The group received a standing ovation and gave a finale performance.
The band is scheduled to play in Albany, Chicago, Dallas, and Pittsburgh in coming months.
