Veterans tour to bring attention to climate change

Veterans touring with Operation Free are spreading the word about climate change and the connection it could have to our national security.

Veterans from the Army, Navy and Marine Corps spoke in Montana yesterday and discussed the complex implications of global warming. According to the Billings Gazette, cited “increasing environmental stress from climate change” as a possible cause of more conflicts that could require additional deployments overseas.

One theory supporting such claims is based on research that rising sea levels will displace millions of people located in coastal areas around the world. Some believe such a displacement would give way to exploitation by terrorists.

Operation Free is supported by the Truman National Security Project.
