VA to strengthen partnerships with medical schools

In a recent press release, the VA announced that it plans to implement 50 recommendations made by a blue-ribbon panel appointed to advise the VA on “strengthening relationships with medical schools and other colleges and universities for health care professionals.”

According to the press release, the VA manages the largest medical education and health professions training program in the U.S. Nearly two-thirds of all physicians in the U.S. have trained in a VA facility at some point in their career.

Do you see the large number of students and recent graduates in VA hospitals as a benefit, or would you prefer a treating physician with years of experience under his or her belt? Let us know your thoughts in our forum where you can sound off on your experience with the VA healthcare system.
