The VA’s 24th National Disabled Veterans Winter Sports Clinic will take place March 28 – April 2, 2010.
This is an amazing opportunity for disabled veterans to participate in recreational activities and sports at the scenic Snowmass Village ski resort in Colorado. Last year, more than 350 veterans took part in the event which is open to military veterans with qualifying disabilities who are receiving inpatient or outpatient care from the VA. Eligible active duty military servicemen and women may also participate.
During the week long event, participants can take part in a variety of workshops and educational sessions that aid their rehabilitation and readjustment. The Winter Sports Clinic is co-sponsored by the VA, Disabled American Veterans, corporate sponsors and individual donors.
Events planned for the clinic include:
- Ski lessons
- Challenge race
- Adaptive sports workshops
- Scuba diving
- Cross country skiing
