The “Pre-Discharge Program” offers service members a change to file claims for disability compensation 180 days prior to their date of discharge.
According to the VA’s website, the program components include:
- Benefits Delivery at Discharge (BDD)
- Quick Start
- Disability Evaluation System (Pilot Program)
- Seriously Injured/Very Seriously Injured (SI/VSI)
You can also apply for benefits such as Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment, Education (GI Bill), and a Loan Guaranty to buy a home.
