Congress passes bill authorizing funds for Tallahassee VA clinic

Legislation which passed last week in the U.S. House of Representatives will likely be signed by President Obama and enable funding for a new $13 million Veterans Outpatient Clinic. The clinic will be located in Tallahassee and will serve as an extension of the VA Medical Center in Gainesville.

Representative Allen Boyd (D – North Florida) announced the creation of the clinic. Boyd, a Vietnam veteran and former Army infantry officer, is a member of the House Caucuses for the Army, Air Force, and Mine Warfare and the House Armed Services Committtee.

He said the new state-of-the-art clinic will ensure “veterans have better access to the healthcare they deserve.”
